ISRO’s 100th Satellite Mission
As a new year gift ISRO launched its 100th satellite Cartosat-2 and 29 other nano satellite from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh on 12th January 2018. Cartosat-2:
Cartosat-2 is an advanced remote sensing satellite capable of providing scene-specific spot imagery. The data from the satellite will be used for detailed mapping and other cartographic applications at cadastral level, urban and rural infrastructure development and management, as well as applications in Land Information System (LIS) and Geographical Information System (GIS).
Countdown to launch:
ISRO has started 28 hour Countdown for its 100th Satellite at 05.29 hours IST on 11-01-2018. Before 2.30 hours ISRO made arrangements launch its 100th mission.  As weather plays a crucial role in the launch of the satellite, officials had been monitored the weather conditions for over two hours by releasing balloons into the sky. When the clock tuck 9.30 ISRO launched the PSLV-C40 satellite from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh with round of applause in the center. The reach of the satellite to its orbit is expected to take over two hours. At 9.31 heat shield is removed which is main reason for IRNSS-1H failure .At 9.52  and all the nano satellite are separated and PSLV-C40 is successfully placed Cartosat-2 series satellite into sun synchronous orbit. All the leaders and important persons even the whole India congratulated ISRO for its New Year gift.
