Under the waste-to-wealth concept given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Coimbatore Smart City Mission has taken the initiative of cleaning the waste accumulated over decades and earning from it. Smart City Mission officials say valuable government land worth about 2,000 crore rupees will also become garbage-free.So far, garbage has been removed from 50 acres of land and the rest of the land will also be garbage free soon. This land worth about two thousand crore rupees will be used for IT Parks, industries, and other developmental projects. In Coimbatore, 1100 tonnes of garbage is produced daily. To prevent the accumulation of garbage in the future, garbage collection vehicles are also being monitored through GPS.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of 508 railway stations across the country through video conferencing. The stations will be redeveloped under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme at a cost of over 24 thousand 470 crore rupees. Master Plans are being prepared for the development of these stations as City Centres, with proper integration of both sides of the city. This integrated approach is driven by the holistic vision of the overall urban development of the city, centred around the railway station. 508 stations are spread across 27 states and union territories. This includes 55 stations each in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, 49 in Bihar, 44 in Maharashtra, 37 in West Bengal, 34 in Madhya Pradesh, 32 in Assam, and 25 in Odisha among others.

The government has allocated one lakh 39 thousand 579 crore rupees to extend Bharat Net in six lakh 40 thousand villages across the country. The Communications Ministry said that the extension project of the Bharat Net will be achieved in nearly two years. The Ministry said that the extension project has been decided after the success of a pilot project in 60 thousand Gram Panchayat villages across the country in eight months. The Ministry highlighted that the Bharat Net has reached 1.94 lakh villages during the pilot project and 5 lakh 67 thousand households have active Bharat Net connections so far and the extension program will also provide nearly two lakh 50 thousand jobs. Built under the Make in India initiative, Bharat Net is one of the world’s largest rural broadband connectivity programs, being implemented by Central PSUs including Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited.

The National Health Authority (NHA) has announced the extension of its Digital Health Incentives Scheme (DHIS) under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission till the 31st of December this year. The Union Health Ministry said the scheme offers incentives of up to four crore rupees based on the number of digital health records created and linked to Ayushman Bharat Health Account numbers of the patients. The DHIS was launched in January 2023. The Ministry said, the scheme proved to be a significant catalyst in promoting the adoption of digital health technologies and practices in healthcare delivery across the country. As of date, one thousand 205 health facilities have registered under this scheme with 567 public and 638 private hospitals.

With the win, the Satara teenager became the first Indian world champion in an individual event at the Senior World Championships. Soon after Aditi Swami’s gold in the women’s event, India’s Ojas Deotale created history when he defeated Lukasz Przybylski of Poland 150-149 in a thrilling final to become the new world champion in Men’s compound event.
