IB ACIO 2017- Exam Pattern, Detailed Syllabus, Expected Cutoff and Preparation Tips:

Dear aspirants, As we know that admit card for exam of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer (Grade-II/Executive) is out and tier-I exam is going to be held on 15^th October 2017. Name of the Post: Intelligence Bureau Assistant Central Intelligence Officer (IB ACIO)

TOTAL POST:

There are total 1430 posts of which 130 is for ex serviceman

The detail of the post is given below.

EXAM PATTERN

First of all we must be familiar with the exam pattern of IB ACIO

The exam will be in Two Tiers followed by an interview.

• Tier – I will be of 100 marks.
• Tier – II will be of 50 marks.
• And interview will be of 100 marks.

All the marks will be added to prepare the merit list, so both tiers and interview are equally important.

IB ACIO Exam Pattern:

So tier-I of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer is similar to SSC CGL tier-I, but this paper is offline. 100 questions in 60 minutes will be there which is divided into 4 parts of 25 questions each from General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical/ Analytical Ability and English language.

Each question will be of 1 mark and 0.25 marks will be deducted for the wrong answer. After qualifying in the tier I you will be called for tier II. And on the basis of the marks of tier I and tier II you will be called for interview.

Note: There is no sectional cutoff for Tier-I.

Tier II is also divided in 2 parts one is of essay writing of 30 marks and other is of English comprehension of 20 marks in 60 minute. It will be on pen and paper mode.

IB ACIO Tier-II Exam Syllabus: (Descriptive Test) – 50 Marks

IB ACIO Tier-II examination will be similar to descriptive test, based on essay writing, comprehension & précis writing.

Purpose of conducting this part is to check your English writing skill and Analytical Ability. Aspirants are advised to cover current topics of last 3 months (before exam) and gather knowledge on it, which will help you to write essay on it.

IB ACIO – Interview (100 marks)

Based on the combined performance in Tier-I and Tier-II, candidates will be shortlisted for the Interview.

Final Selection:

Candidates those who have cleared the Interview, based on the combined performance in Tier-I, Tier-II and Interview, they will be shortlisted for the final selection, which will subject to successful completion of their character and Antecedent verification and medical examination.

EXPECTED CUT OFF

As Ministry of Home Affairs never tells the cut off so it is tough to predict the cut off on the basis of the previous year or on the basis of level.

So cut off for tier-I of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer will depend on the level of exam. But on a rough overview we can say that above 80 can be the safe score but don’t accept it firmly because it can vary according to the level of examination.

Note: There is no sectional cutoff for Tier-I.

And tier II cutoff is also unpredictable.

Preparation Tips for IB ACIO:

As the exam is on offline mode so prepare according to that.

• If you haven’t filled OMR sheet since long time than practice it, because it consumes lot of time.
• Don’t fill the entire answer circle at once in the last of exam because in that case one mistake can ruin all your hard work. So solve a question than answer it and proceed in the same manner.
• Keep practicing for the tier II also.
