Basically, the prelims exam is just as a qualifying nature to the main examination. The scores obtained from the prelims exam will not be considered for the final provisional allotment. But candidates have to get the cut-off marks fixed by the selection board. Generally, the selection board has fixed the cut off marks for each category based on the normalization method. This normalization depends upon the number of vacancies, the difficulty level of the examination. It shall be varied depends upon the state.
