The candidates who clear the preliminary exam will be qualified for the mains exam. Then the students shortlisted from the mains exam are eligible to attend the final interview round. The prelims exam is conducted for 100 marks with 60 minutes of time duration. The sections it includes are the English language, reasoning, and quantitative aptitude. Also, 1/4th of the marks are reduced for each wrong answer.

The IBPS PO mains exam is the second stage of recruitment in which you will be attending 4 sections namely English language, reasoning, general awareness, and data interpretation & analysis. The total marks for these four sections is 200. After that, you have to type an essay and letter writing in the descriptive test. The marks for the descriptive test is 25. So the total marks for the mains exam is 225. For each wrong answer, 1/4th of the marks is deducted.
