The IBPS PO Selection Process 2021 consists of 3 stages. They are Prelims, Mains, and Interview Stages. Candidates qualified in these three rounds will be eligible for provisional allotment. The IBPS PO Selection Process 2021 in detail is provided below.
IBPS PO Phase-I Preliminary Examination:
The preliminary exam is to scrutinize the candidates for the next stage of the selection process. The marks secured in this examination is not calculated in the merit list.
- In Prelims, there are three sections namely English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability.
- The number of questions asked in the English Section is 30, in Quantitative Aptitude is 35 and in Reasoning Ability is 35.
- Each question carries one mark.
- A negative marking of 0.25 mark is for the wrong answers.
- 20 minutes time allotted for each section.

- In the Main examination, there are four sections under namely Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, English Language, Data Analysis & Interpretation and General Economy & Banking Awareness.

Phase II – Personal Interview: IBPS PO Selection Process
- A personal Interview is the final selection process.
- 100 marks allotted for the interview process.
- The IBPS Authorities’ decision will be final.
To qualify this round the minimum qualifying mark is 40 out of 100 for General Category candidates. And 35 is the minimum qualifying mark for all other candidates.

IBPS PO 2021 Provisional Allotment: IBPS PO Selection Process
- On completion of the interview process, depending on the vacancies to be filled in during the financial year 2022- 23 based on the business needs of the Participating Banks and as reported to IBPS, candidates shortlisted will be provisionally allotted to one of the Participating Banks, based on merit-cum preference keeping in view the spirit of Govt.
- Guidelines on reservation policy, various guidelines issued by Govt. of India/Others from time to time, administrative exigency, etc. Vacancies given in this advertisement are indicative.
- The provisional allotment shall be done on the basis of final vacancies to be reported by the Participating Banks.
- Candidates should not claim indicative vacancies as final for provisional allotment. No change in the data already registered by the candidate in the online application form is possible.
- The decision of IBPS in the provisional allotment of Banks shall be final and binding upon the selected candidates.
- However, IBPS reserves the right to cancel, reallot Bank-wise allocation/ change the process depending upon exigencies or otherwise.
- This is an All India cadre and provisionally allotted candidates (subject to fulfilling all required criteria) may be posted anywhere in India/ outside India as per the discretion of the participating bank.
How is the final Cut-off Calculated?
- 80% weightage is given to the Main examination out of 225 (as per 2017-18) and the equipercentile score is calculated, then the remaining 20% weightage is given to the interview that is out of 100.
- And the normalized Main Examination score and interview score is calculated for the final Cut-off marks.
