Ans. Yes, there is a sectional cut off for the IBPS RRB exam for all the posts. Candidates are supposed to attain minimum marks in each section along with a specified cut-off.
Q 2. Are the marks obtained in IBPS RRB prelims considered for calculating the final merit?
Ans. No, only the marks scored in the mains and interview levels are considered for calculating the final merit.
Q 3. Is IBPS PO better than the IBPS RRB exam?
Ans. The IBPS PO exam is conducted only for the post of Officers, however, the IBPS RRB exam is conducted for the post of multipurpose assistant and officer. The salary provided to an IBPS PO is much higher than that provided to an Officer or Assistant in any Regional Rural Bank.

Ans. Yes, there is a penalty of 0.25 marks for each wrongly answered question in the Regional Rural Bank exams. There is negative marking for prelims, mains, and single written test exams under RRB. If no answer is marked and the answer is left blank, no marks are deducted.

However, aspirants can apply for only one post in officer’s cadre i.e. In case a candidate is applying for Officer Scale-I, then he cannot apply for officer scale-II or officer scale-III. Aspirants need to apply separately for the same and the fee to be paid separately too.

Ans. The maximum age criteria as decided by the IBPS is given below according to the scales:
For Officer Scale-III – Above 21 years – Below 40 years
For Officer Scale-II – Above 21 years – Below 32 years
For Officer Scale-I – Above 18 years – Below 30 years
For Office Assistant (Multipurpose) – Between 18 years and 28 years
