IBPS SO eligibility criteria: IBPS SO Exam is conducted every year by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection to recruit candidates for various posts such as IT Officer, Agricultural Field Officer, Rajbhasha Adhikari, Law Officer, HR/ Personnel Officer, and Marketing Officer under various PSBs (Public Sector Banks).
This year as well IBPS will be conducting exams for the post of SO and the tentative dates for the same have been released by IBPS SO.

IBPS SO Exam is conducted in three stages:-
Candidates should carefully see the eligibility criteria of all the posts as the IBPS SO eligibility criteria is different for different posts. In this article, we will take you through the IBPS SO eligibility criteria for each post.
IBPS SO eligibility criteria has three important parts namely:-
1) Nationality
2) Educational Qualification
3) Age Limit
We will take you through each of them one by one.
A candidate must be either –
(i) a Citizen of India or
(ii) a subject of Nepal
(iii) a subject of Bhutan or
(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India,
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Apart from the above educational qualifications candidates should also note that:
The age limit for all of the above posts is the same.
Lower Age Limit | 20 Years |
Upper Age Limit | 30 Years |
However, there is a relaxation in the upper age limit for reserved category students. The relaxation in the age limit is as below:

4. | Ex-Servicemen, Commissioned Officers including Emergency Commissioned Officers (ECOs)/ Short Service Commissioned Officers (SSCOs) who have rendered at least 5 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year from the last date of receipt of application) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or physical disability attributable to military service or invalided | 5 Years |
5. | Persons ordinarily domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 1-1-80 to 31-12-89 | 5 Years |
6. | Persons affected by 1984 riots | 5 Years |
Also, note that Candidates seeking age relaxation will be required to submit necessary certificate(s) in original/ copies at the time of the Interview and at any subsequent stage of the recruitment process as required by IBPS/ Participating Organization(s).
