• Pakistan secured a significant victory over India in the UNESCO executive board election for the post of vice-chair.
• India and Sweden launched Leadership Group for Industry Transition (LeadIT) 2.0 during the COP28 World Climate Action Summit, hosted in Dubai for the period 2024-26, at COP-28 in Dubai.
• Pakistan has filed an application to join the BRICS group of nations in 2024 and is counting on Russia’s assistance during the membership process.

• The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a significant loan of USD 170 million for the modernization of water supply services in Kochi, Kerala.
• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the Bank of England (BoE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation and information exchange regarding the Clearing Corporation of India Ltd. (CCIL).
• Jana Small Finance Bank, backed by TPG Capital, has received approval from the Securities & Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for its initial public offering (IPO).
• Fintech major BharatPe turned Ebitda-positive in October and clocked an annualised revenue of Rs 1,500 crore, up 31% from the year-ago period, on the back of a significant growth in lending and payments business.

• The insurance ombudsman disposed of over 92% of the complaints it received from the insured during 2022-23.

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) permitted banks to open additional current accounts for export proceeds in addition to special rupee vostro accounts with a view to providing greater operational flexibility to exporters.
• Private general insurers increased their combined market share to 53.58% in gross direct premium underwritten in the first half of the current financial year from 50.81% in the year-ago period.
• Mutual funds have set aside ₹3,100 crore as part of the Corporate Debt Market Development Fund (CDMDF) created by the capital market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) as a backstop arrangement to bailout specified debt schemes in times of crisis in the market.

• The Board of Directors of HDFC Bank has approved the appointment of Harsh Kumar Bhanwala as an Additional Independent Director of the Bank for 3 years from January 25, 2024.
• Mumbai-based Fino Payments Bank has received approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for the appointment of former managing director of Xerox India and Walt Disney India, Rajat Kumar Jain, as its part-time chairman.
• AS-IT-IS Nutrition, a trusted leader in the fitness and sports nutrition sector, has signed Ravindra Jadeja, the celebrated Indian cricketer, to their distinguished brand ambassador lineup.
• Senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Veera Rana, from the 1988 batch, has been appointed the Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh (MP) as an additional charge.
• Mizoram Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati has appointed a woman Indian Air Force officer from Odisha, squadron leader Manisha Padhi, as India’s first Woman Aide-De-Camp (ADC) from the Indian Armed Forces at a brief ceremony held at the Raj Bhawan in Aizawl.

• The 14th Edition of the Indo-US Joint Special Forces exercise, “VAJRA PRAHAR 2023,” has commenced at the Joint Training Node in Umroi, Meghalaya spanning from 21st November to 11th December 2023.
• Indian Coast Guard conducted the 9th National Level Pollution Response Exercise (NATPOLREX-IX) near Vadinar, Gujarat.
• In a significant leap forward in the realm of Indian aviation, IndiGo, the country’s largest airline, has unveiled a cutting-edge AI chat assistant, 6Eskai, powered by GPT-4 technology.
