• Russian President Vladimir Putin declared that Russia has suspended its participation in the New START (“Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty”) due to a rise in tension over the Russia-Ukraine war.
• Global anti-money laundering watchdog the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has suspended Russia’s membership for its “illegal, unprovoked and unjustified” full-scale military invasion of Ukraine.

• Shobha Gangwal, wife of IndiGo co-founder Rakesh Gangwal divested a 4 per cent stake in parent firm InterGlobe Aviation for Rs 2,944 crore through the open market transactions.
• Overall remittances by resident individuals under LRS have shot up by 40 per cent to $19.35 billion during the nine months ended December 2022 from $13.79 billion a year ago.
