• Nepal decided to allow India’s Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) Limited to develop a second hydropower project in the country.

• The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced that India will host the annual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in the virtual format on July 4, 2023.
• King of Cambodia, Norodom Sihamoni, is on his maiden State visit to India from the 29th to 31st of May, 2023.

• Iraq’s prime minister Mr Mohammed Shia al-Sudani announced plans for a $17 billion regional transportation project intended to facilitate the flow of goods from Asia to Europe.
• India has joined the Centralized Laboratory Network (CLN) which currently has 15 partner facilities in 13 countries that works to test vaccines which can be used during pandemic, epidemic disease outbreak.
• The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has won the bid to host the 2025 World Conservation Congress (WCC) of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

• Odisha Chief Minister (CM) Shri Naveen Patnaik announced the launch of the ‘Mo Ghara’ (My House) a credit-linked housing scheme to provide financial assistance to people of states for completing or upgrading their houses.
• Haryana Chief Minister (CM) Shri Manohar Lal launched the community policing outreach programme Haryana Uday from the Gurugram district of the state, another innovative initiative towards public welfare.
• The Telangana government headed by the Chief Minister Shri K.Chandrasekhar Rao has announced that at least one de-addiction centre would be established, in all 33 districts (one each).

• The Maharashtra government has approved a new financial scheme Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Yojana under which more than one crore farmers in the state will be paid 6,000 rupees annually.
• The Uttar Pradesh (UP) government stated that it provided protection to 11,57,204 destitute cattle by spending a total of ₹1,681.61 crore under the Mukhyamantri Nirasrit Govansh Sahbhagita Yojana.
• Odisha Chief Minister (CM) Shri Naveen Patnaik launched ‘Odisha for Artificial Intelligence’ (AI) and ‘Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Youth’ initiatives.
• The Girijan Co-operative Corporation (GCC), Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh (AP), has been granted organic certification for its renowned Araku coffee and black pepper crops by the Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI).

• In order to empower women in the tourism sector, the Maharashtra Cabinet approved the implementation of the Gender Inclusive Tourism Policy called ‘Aai’under the ‘Ajadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.

• Razorpay has launched India’s fastest one-step UPI (unified payments interface) payment solution, ‘Turbo UPI’ that allows customers of online merchants to make UPI payments directly without getting redirected to a third-party UPI app during checkout.
• Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced that Ikano Bank AB in Sweden has selected the TCS BaNCS Global Banking SaaS Platform for its pan-Europe core banking transformation.
• Draft valuation rules for overseas investments into startups under the ‘angel tax’ regime have been announced & the rules have been issued by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).
• Yubi, an online debt marketplace that connects borrowers and lenders for various credit products, announced its partnership with Indian Bank to extend digital supply chain financing solutions to small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs).
• Bank of Maharashtra (BoM) has emerged as the best bank as far as management of bad loans is concerned with its net non-performing assets (NPAs) falling as low as 0.25% during the financial year ended March 2023.
• According to the RBI’s annual report 2022-23, India’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth for 2023-24 is projected at 6.5% for FY24 amid softer global commodity and food prices, and good rabi crop prospects, among others

• The National Statistical Office (NSO), under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), released the Provisional Estimates (PE) of National Income for the fiscal year 2022-23, along with the Quarterly Estimates of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the period of January to March 2022-23 (Q4 2022-23), as per the data the growth rate for real GDP during 2022-23 is estimated at 7.2%, marking a decrease from the 9.1% growth observed in 2021-22.

• The government has appointed Ajay Yadav, a 2005 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Bihar cadre as the Managing Director (MD) of Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI).
• Krithivasan, took charge as the new Managing Director (MD) & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Indian Information Technology (IT) services company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
• The board of directors of ICICI Bank have approved the reappointment of Sandeep Batra as Executive Director (ED) of the Bank for a period of 2 years with effect from Dec 23, 2023 to Dec 22, 2025.

• NHPC Limited (A Govt. of India Enterprise) and Vidhyut Utpadan Company Limited (VUCL), Nepal signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) in New Delhi for the development of Phukot Karnali Hydro Electric Project (480MW) in Nepal
• Soon personnel from government ministries, departments, agencies and public sector units will be able to book taxis for official purposes from cab aggregator Uber as the company has partnered with public procurement portal GeM to provide the service.

• The Indian Navy achieved a unique feat after an MH-60 ‘Romeo’ multi-mission helicopter landed on the indigenously-built aircraft carrier INS Vikrant.
• An Indian Navy MiG-29K fighter jet landed on the indigenous aircraft carrier Indian Naval Ship (INS) Vikrant for the first time at night, an important step towards the warship becoming fully operational along with its air wing by the year-end.
• A successful training launch of a Medium-Range Ballistic Missile, Agni-1 was carried out by the Strategic Forces Command (SFC) from APJ Abdul Kalam Island, Odisha.

• SpaceX (Space Exploration Technologies Corporation) has launched Falcon 9 rocket topped with the 52 Starlink spacecraft lifted off from California’s Vandenberg Space Force Base, United States of America (USA).
• The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras will set up its first International campus in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
• SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket successfully launched 22 second-generation Starlink satellites, also known as ‘V2 Mini’ to low-Earth orbit (LEO) from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, United States of America (USA).
