LIC Assistant Selection Procedure:

The LIC assistant selection procedure will happen in two stages. They are,

• Online preliminary exam
• Online Main Exam

LIC Assistant Prelims Exam Pattern:

The prelims exam has three sections namely numerical ability, reasoning ability and English language/ Hindi language. This objective test is conducted in online mode. There will be totally 100 questions. The total marks for the exam is also 100. Thus each question carries one mark. As there is sectional timing you can’t swap between the sections. The sectional timing for each section is 20 minutes. Also, the sectional cut off for each category students are mentioned in the table.

The total marks for the mains exam is 200. There is negative marking for the mains exam. 1/4th of the marks assigned to the question is deducted as a penalty if you mark the wrong answer. There are two mains exam pattern based on the zones.

• For the first year, the annual increment is Rs.840.

• For the 9th year to the 10th year, the annual increment will raise to Rs.1195.
• Then for 11th to 13th year, the annual increment will become Rs.1455.
• For 14th to 15th year, Rs.1510 is the annual increment.
• For 16th to 20th year the annual increment will be Rs.1610. Here the basic pay will reach the maximum limit of Rs.40080.

House Rent Allowance (HRA)	7% to 9% of basic pay, based on the work location
City Compensatory Allowance (CCA)	0% to 4% of the basic pay, based upon the work location
