National Calendar Of India
The National Calendar of India is based on the Saka Calendar which is adopted as the official civil calendar beside the Gregorian Calendar. It is one of the National Symbols of India. The beginning of the Saka Samvat was marked as the Saka Era in a historic Hindu calendar that was later introduced as the ‘Indian National Calendar’ in 1957. The usage of the Saka Calendar was officially started at 1 Chaitra 1879 Saka Era, or 22 March 1957.

National Song Of India
The National song of India is Vande Mataram. It was composed in Sanskrit by Bankimchandra Chatterji. It was a source of inspiration to the people in their struggle for freedom. The song was a part of Bankimchandra’s most famous novel Anand Math (1882).
