Answers:
1) Answer: A
Let x be the number of staffs.
We are given that 30% of the staffs are workers. Now 30% of x is
30/100×x=0.3x
Hence, the number of workers is 3/10x
All the remaining staffs are executives, so the number of executives equals
(The number of staffs) – (The number of Workers)
=x-3x/10
=7x/10
The annual income of each worker is Rs. 190.
Hence, the total annual income of all the workers together is:
=3x/10*190
=57x
Also, the annual income of each executive is Rs. 210.
Hence, the total income of all the executives together is
=7x/10*210
=147x
Hence, the total income of the staffs is :
=57x+147x=204x
The average income of all the staffs together equals
The total income of all the staffs /The number of staffs
=204x/x =204
2) Answer: B
The total wages amount = 12*300=3600
The wages of the exiting manager = 360
Therefore, the wages of 8 workers and the remaining 3 managers:
=3600-360=3240
When a new manager joins, the new average wage drops to Rs.290 for the total team of 12 of them.
The total wages for the 12 people i.e., 8 workers, 3 old managers and 1 new manager = 290*12=3480
Therefore, the wage of the new manager is 3600-3480=120 less than that of the old manager who left the company, which is equal to 360-120=240
3) Answer: D
Let a, b and c be the annual incomes of Rithick, Gowtham and Pradeep respectively.
Now, we are given that
The arithmetic mean of the annual incomes of Rithick and Gowtham was Rs. 1900.
Hence, a+b/2=1900
Multiplying by 2 yields a+b=2×1900=3800
The arithmetic mean of the annual incomes of Gowtham and Pradeep was Rs. 2400.
Hence, b+c/2 = 2400
Multiplying by 2 yields b+c = 2×2400=4800
The arithmetic mean of the annual incomes of Pradeep and Rithick was Rs. 2900.
Hence, c+a/2=2900
Multiplying by 2 yields c+a=2×2900=5800
Summing these three equations yields:
(a+b)+(b+c)+(c+a)=3800+4800+5800
2a+2b+2c=14400
a+b+c=14,400/2=7200
The average of the incomes of the three equals the sum of the incomes divided by 3:
=a+b+c/3
=7200/3
=2400
4) Answer: A
The total wages earned during the 9 days that the worker worked:
=9*70=630
The total wages earned during the first 4 days =4*62 = Rs. 248
The total wages earned during the last 4days = 4*74 = Rs. 296
Total wages earned during the 9 days = wages during first 4 days + wage on 5th day + wages during the last 4 days.
630=248+ wage on 5th day +296
Wage on 5th day = 630-248-296
=Rs. 86
5) Answer: D
Let the average weight of 120 candidates be x,
The average weight of 119 candidates is x+0.4
According to the question,
120x – 90 = 119(x+0.4)
120x – 90 = 119 x + 47.6
X = 137.6
The average weight of 119 candidates = 137.6 + 0.4 = 138
6) Answer: D
Average cost of 10 oranges and 8 jackfruits = Rs. 72
Total cost = 72*18
= Rs 1296
Average cost of 14 oranges and 16 jackfruits = 96
Total cost = 96*30
= Rs 2880
Total cost of 24 oranges and 24 jackfruits
= 1296+2880
=Rs 4176
Therefore, cost of 48 oranges and 48 jackfruits = 4176*2
=Rs 8352
7) Answer: A
Let the total number of persons in the company = x
Given Average of all workers
=32000⇒32000x
Average of 28 members = 48000⇒28×48000=1344000
Average of remaining workers = 24000⇒24000×(x–28)
=24000x-672000
Find out the total number of workers
32000x=1344000+24000x-672000
32000x-24000x=672000
8000x=672000
X=672000/8000
X=84
Therefore the total number of workers in the company is 84
8) Answer: C
Total number of candidates = 46+54=100
Weight of 46 candidates= 46*50=2300 kg
Weight of 54 candidates=54*45=2430 kg
Total weight of 100 candidates= 2300 kg+2430 kg=4730kg
Therefore average weight of the whole institute =4730/100
Therefore average weight=47.3 kg
9) Answer: B
Average Speed = (2xy/x+y)km/hr
= (2*92*64)/92+64
=11776/156
=75.48 km/hr
The average speed of bus during the whole journey is 75.48 km/hr
10) Answer: B
Average weight of 18 male = 200kg
Total weight of 18 male = 18 x 200 = 3600
Average weight of 22 female = 170 kg
Total weight of 22 female = 22 x 170 = 3740
Total weight of (18+22)40 persons= 3600+ 3740 = 7340 kg
Average weight of the whole class = (7340 / 40) = 183.5
Hence the required answer is 183.5 kg.
