  1. 12 days
  2. 11 days
  3. 10 days
  4. 12 days
  5. 13 days

Answers:

Q.1) Answer c

A’s one day work with 100% efficiency = 1/15

C’s one day work = 1/15

B and C’s one day work = 1/6

B’s one day work = 1/6-1/15=1/10

Required no of days = 1/20+3/40=5/40=1/8

Q.2) Answer b

R’s one day work = 3/20-1/15=5/60=1/12

P and Q’s one day work = 1/15+1/10=5/30=10/60

Q and R’s one day work = 1/10+1/12=11/60

1 cycle (2 days) = 21 units completed

2 cycles (4 days) = 42 units completed

Next cycle will be P and Q,

So, 52 units get completed.

Remaining work completed by Q and R = 8/11

Required number of days =5 8/11 days

Q.3) Answer a

Efficiency ratio of A and B =2:1

1/2x+1/x=1/4

2x=12=>x=6

C = 12+3=15 days

Given,

Let take total number of days be x

x/4+(x-3)/15=1

Simplify the above equation we get x= 3 15/19 days

Q.4) Answer d

Given,

1/x+1/(x+5)=9/100

Simplify the above equation we get x=20 days

Q.5) Answer e

Given,

2(A+B+C)=1/8+7/48+5/48=18/48=3/8

A+B+C=3/16

A’s one day work = 3/16-5/48=4/48=1/12

B’s one day work=3/16-7/48=2/48=1/24

C’s one day work = 3/16-1/8=1/16

1 cycle (3 days) =2/12+2/24+1/16=5/16

3 cycles (9 days) =15/16

Remaining =1- 15/16=1/16

Remaining work completed by A and B = (1/16)/(1/12+1/24)=1/2

Total number of days =9+ 1/2=9 1/2 days

Q.6) Answer c

Given,

=>1/20+1/40-1/25

=>(15-8)/200=28 4/7  days

Q.7) Answer b

Given,

Efficiency ratio of Swathi and Priya = 3:2

1/3x+1/2x=1/6

=>x=5

Efficiency ratio of Swathi, Priya and Rathi = 1/10:1/15:1/20

=>6:4:3

Total share = 1800/6×13=Rs.3900

Q.8) Answer d

20 men 5 days output = (20×5)/(15×20)=1/3

Remaining =1- 1/3=2/3

Two-third of the total work completed in 20 days then total work completed in 30 days.

Required number of days = 30/(30×20)=1/20

30 women alone complete the whole work in 20 days.

Q.9) Answer e

1 cycle (2 days) =30/(15×20)+30/((30×20) )=3/20

6th cycle (12 days) =18/20

Remaining =1- 18/20=2/20

Remaining work completed by 30 boys = (2/20)/(30/(15×20))=1

Total number of days =12+1=13 days

Q.10) Answer c

20 men completes the whole work in 20 days

10 men 10 days work = (10×10)/(20×20)=1/4

Remaining =1- 1/4=3/4

20 boys can complete the whole work in 40/3 days, therefore remaining work completed by 20 boys in,

=> (40/3) *(3/4) =10 days
