Directions (Q. 6-10): What should come in place of question mark (?) in the following number series?
Directions (Q. 11–15): What value should come in the place of question mark (?) in the following questions?
Directions (Q. 16 – 20): Study the following table and answer the questions that follow:
The table shows the number of employees in 5 departments – A, B, C, D and E in a company, the percentage of females in each department and the ratio of number of males who are unmarried to married.
Answers:
Both the trains meet at x hours after 7 am,
Distance covered by A in x hours = 20x km
Distance covered by B in (x-1) hours = 25(x-1) km
20x + 25(x-1) = 110
20x + 25x -25 =110
45x = 135
X = 135/45 = 3
1st train meets second train after 3 hours = > 3 +7 = 10 am
Let cost price be x,
Profit = 1200 = Sp – Cp
[X*(1/3)*(109/100) + x*(2/3)*(97/100)] – x = 1200109x +194x -300x = 360000
3x = 360000
X = 120000
Total mixture = 45 litres
Milk: water = 2: 1
3’s = 45
1’s = 15
Milk = 30 lit, Water = 15 lit
30/(15+x) = 60/40
30/(15+x) = 3/2
20 = 15+x
X = 5 litres
So 5 litres of water should be added
Investment ratio = > 3:5:7
Profit ratio = > 2:5:8
Period = > (2/3): (5/5): (8/7)
= > 70: 105: 120
= > 14: 21: 24
5 years hence, Rahul and Ravi’s age ratio will be 3: 4 (3x, 4x)
Present age of Rahul and Ravi = 3x-5, 4x-5
The present age of Rahul is equal to Ravi’s age 10 years ago
3x-5 = 4x-15
X = 10
Present age of Rahul and Ravi = 3x-5, 4x-5 = 25, 35
Directions (Q. 6-10):
The difference is, 62-6, 82-8, 102-10, 122-12, 142 -14…
The answer is, 495
The pattern is, ÷ 8, ÷ 6, ÷ 4, ÷ 2
The answer is, 8
The pattern is, *3-6, *4-8, *5-10, *6-12…
The answer is, 18048
The difference is, 3, 32, 33, 34…
The answer is, 133
The pattern is, *2+12, *3+32, *4+52, *5+72, *6+92…
The answer is, 3654
Directions (Q. 11–15):
(135 ×135× 39)/15 ÷ x = 60 × 52
X = (135 ×135× 39)/(15×60 × 52)
X = 15.1875
1272/x = 1382 – 956 – 214
X = 1272/ 212
X = 6
(444/12) × 28 – 612 = x
X= 1036 – 612
X= 424
3/8 × 4/9 × 1575 + (√?) – 32% of 786 = 66.98
1/2 × 525 + (√?) – (32/100) × 786 = 66.98
262.5 + (√?)– 251.52 = 66.98
262.5 – 251.52 + (√?) = 66.98
(√?) = 56
? = (56)2 = 3136
∛97336 +√6889 ÷ 2?– 3/4 of 65 + 52 = 43
46 + 83/2x – 48.75 + 25 = 43
83/20.75 = 2x
4 = 2x = > 22 = 2x
x = 2
Directions (Q. 16 – 20):
Females in department B = (40/100)*290 = 116
In department C = (35/100)*360 = 126
Required % = (126-116)/126 * 100 ≈ 8%
3/5 * (75/100) * 540 = 243
Females in A = (20/100)*450 = 90
Males in B who come are unmarried = (1/3) * (60/100)*290 = 58
Difference = 90 – 58 = 32
D + E = (75/100)*540 + (80/100)*250 = 405 + 200 = 605
Unmarried males in department C = (4/9) * (65/100)*360 = 104
Married Males in department B = (2/3) * (60/100)*290 = 116
104: 116 = 26: 29
