The scores of candidates are calculated as per the marking scheme. The process to calculate the scores is given below:
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) normalizes the scores of SSC JHT as the exam is conducted in multiple shifts. This is done to take into account any variation in the difficulty levels of the question papers across different shifts. The notice issued by SSC on normalization reads, “The normalization is done based on the fundamental assumption that in all multi-shift examinations, the distribution of abilities of candidates is the same across all the shifts. This assumption is justified since the number of candidates appearing in multiple shifts in the examinations conducted by the Commission is large and the procedure for allocation of examination shift to candidates is random.”
The minimum qualifying marks for Paper 1 and 2 are given below:
Category | Minimum qualifying marks |
UR | 30% |
OBC/EWS | 25% |
Others | 20% |
The result of SSC JHT is released in the following stages:
Paper 1 comprises questions from General Hindi and General English. The maximum marks allotted to the test are 200. The questions are framed to test the candidate’s understanding of languages and literature, correct use of words, phrases, and idioms, and the ability to write the languages correctly, precisely, and effectively. Based on the normalized marks and cut off, candidates are selected for Paper 2.
The paper 2 is conducted for the qualified candidates of Paper 1. This paper is a conventional type. Candidates qualifying the test are called for document verification.
The final result of SSC JHT is announced after document verification. SSC JHT final result 2020 is prepared based on the candidate’s performance in Paper 1 and 2. Besides, the preferences given by candidates for posts/departments are also taken into consideration to declare the final result.
