SSC Stenographer Online Application

SSC Stenographer online application has been started on 10-10-2020. Applications are required to be submitted in online mode only at the official website. Candidates can apply for the SSC Stenographer posts on the official website of the SSC (ssc.nic.in). The last date for the online application submission is 4-11-2020 before 23:30. Candidates are advised to submit online applications much before the closing date and not to wait till the last date to avoid the possibility of disconnection/ inability or failure to login to the SSC website on account of heavy load on the website during the closing days.

SSC Stenographer Online Application Fees

The Application Fee is Rs 100/-  Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with disability (PwD) and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fees.

Fee can be paid through BHIM UPI, Net Banking or by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit card or in cash at SBI Branches by generating SBI Challan. 

Online fee can be paid by the candidates up to 06.11.2020 (23:30 hours). However, candidates who wish to make payment through challan of SBI may make the payment at designated branches of SBI within the working hours of bank up to 10.11.2020 provided the challan has been generated by them before 08.11.2020 (23:30 hours).

SSC Stenographer Recruitment Notification: Eligibility

Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before applying for the post of SSC Stenographer Grade C and D. Fulfilling the eligibility criteria is important to be eligible for appointment to the post.

1. Nationality 

Candidates must be either

(I) Citizen of India or

(II) A subject of Nepal or 

(III) Citizen of Bhutan or 

(IV) Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of settling in India or

(V) Indian origin person who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. 

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories II, III, IV and V in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Indian Government. 

2. Age Limit

The Age Limit mentioned on the SSC Stenographer recruitment notification as on August 8, 2020, is as follows

2.1 Age Relaxations

Reservation in the upper age limit is provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories:

The salary structure of SSC Stenographer Grade C and D is as mentioned in the table below:

SSC Stenographer Recruitment Notification: CBT Exam Pattern 

The exam pattern as mentioned in the SSC Stenographer recruitment notification is the same as in previous years. There are no changes in the exam pattern of the SSC Stenographer Post. Candidates can check the exam pattern below:

Note: 

  • There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks
  • One marks will be allotted for each right answer.
  • There will be minimum qualifying marks in the computer-based examination as mentioned in the SSC Stenographer recruitment notification:
    1. UR: 30%
    2. OBC/ EWS: 25%
    3. All other categories (SC, ST, PwD, ESM, etc): 20%
  • After the candidates qualify the CBT exam, they will be called for the Skill Test.
  • Skill Test is mandatory but qualifying in nature. The Commission will fix category-wise qualifying standard in the Skill Test for each post. The candidates who qualify the Skill Test will be considered for final selection on basis of their merit in the Computer Based Examination.

Important Notice for the Candidates

Candidates applying for any posts must take note of important points mentioned in the SSC Stenographer recruitment notification:

The scanned colour passport size photograph uploaded in JPEG format (20 KB to 50 KB) in the online Application Form of the Examination:

  • Should not be more than three months old from the date of the publication of the Notice of Examination, and
  • The date on which the photograph has been taken should be clearly printed on the photograph. 

Note:- Applications without the date printed on the photograph shall be rejected.
