SSC Stenographer Syllabus 2020 for General Awareness

This section includes questions relating to India and its Neighbouring countries, Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General Polity including Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research, etc.

SSC Stenographer Syllabus 2020 for English Language and Comprehension

In this section, candidates will get questions from Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, and its correct usage, etc. Besides, the section tests a candidate’s writing ability.

SSC Stenographer 2020 Exam Pattern

The test paper of SSC Stenographer includes questions from three sections. The duration of the test is two hours. There are also negative marks for wrong answers, 0.25 marks are deducted. The structure of the SSC Stenographer exam pattern 2020 is given below.

SSC Stenographer Skill Test – Qualifying Criteria

The candidates will first have to secure a cut-off in SSC Stenographer CBT set by the SSC to qualify for the shorthand stage.

  1. The qualifying marks are different for the written test of Stenographer Grade C and  Grade D.
  2. The candidate securing higher marks will be selected to appear for the Grade C as well as Grade D Exam of the Skill Test, which will the Tier II Exam.
  3. The candidates qualifying the written test will be eligible to appear for the shorthand skill test.
  4. The shorthand skill test is qualifying in nature.
  5. The Merit List will be prepared on the basis of the marks secured by the candidates in the written test.

The Eligibility Criteria for the shorthand skill test is given below for SSC Stenographer Grade C and Grade D.
