1). Episodic (Adjective) प्रासंगिक

Definition: containing or consisting of a series of separate parts or events.

Synonyms: in episodes, in instalments, in sections, in parts

Antonyms: complete, entire.

Usage: an episodic narrative

 

2). Tranquil (Adjective) – शांत

Definition: free from disturbance; calm.

Synonyms: peaceful, restful, reposeful, calm, quiet, still, serene, placid, relaxing,  soothing

Antonyms: disturbed, busy, excitable

Usage: her tranquil gaze

 

3). Uptrend (Noun) — ऊपर प्रवृत्ति

Definition: an upward tendency, especially a rise in economic value.

Synonyms: rise, improvement, advancement.

Antonyms: loss, decrease, reduction.

Usage: the uptrend in sales and profits is expected to be sustained in the October-March period

 

4). Regime (Noun) – शासन

Definition: a government, especially an authoritarian one.

Synonyms: government, authorities, system of government, rule, reign,  dominion, sovereignty

Usage: ideological opponents of the regime

 

5). Fortnightly (Adjective) – पाक्षिक

Definition: a magazine or other periodical issued every two weeks.

Usage: the review was launched as a fortnightly in 1957

 

6). Teargas (Noun) — आँसू गैस

Definition: gas that causes severe irritation to the eyes, chiefly used in riot control to force crowds to disperse.

Usage: police used water cannon and tear gas against demonstrators

 

7). Alienation (Noun) – अलगाव की भावना

Definition: the state or experience of being alienated.

Synonyms: isolation, detachment, estrangement, distance, separation, severance

Antonyms: agreement, charm, endearment.

Usage: a sense of alienation from our environment

 

8). Rallied (Verb) – पुनः इकट्ठा होना

Definition: (of troops) come together again in order to continue fighting after a defeat or dispersion.

Synonyms: reassemble, regroup, re-form, reunite, gather together again, get together again

Antonyms: demobilize, disband

Usage: De Montfort’s troops rallied and drove back the king’s infantry

 

9). Speculated (Verb) – अनुमान लगाना

Definition: form a theory or conjecture about a subject without firm evidence.

Synonyms: conjecture, theorize, form theories, hypothesize, make suppositions

Antonyms: forget, neglect.

Usage: my colleagues speculate about my private life

 

10). Temptation (Noun) – प्रलोभन

Definition: the desire to do something, especially something wrong or unwise.

Synonyms: desire, urge, itch, impulse, inclination

Antonyms: desire, hate, prevention.

Usage: he resisted the temptation to call Celia at the office
