1)  Incendiary (verb) – उत्तेजक

Meaning: Tending to stir up conflict; Likely to injure or damage; A person who stirs up

conflict

Synonyms: agitator, demagogue, firebrand, inflammatory, seditious, provocative

Antonyms: conciliatory, loyal, peacemaking

Usage:  The Internet was a valuable tool  that  could  be  used  to counter the spread of

incendiary rumours and fake news

 

2) Perusal   (verb) – अवलोकन

Meaning: Studying something carefully; The act of dealing with or taking notice of

someone or something;

Synonyms: examination, inspection, read, attention, consideration, concern

deliberation

Antonyms: ignorance, neglect, heedlessness

Usage: The prohibitory  orders  were published,   although   a   perusal of those

showed  that  the  reasons  remained brief and cryptic

 

3) Tatters (verb) – फटे कपड़े

Meaning: Irregularly torn pieces of cloth, paper, or other material; a small amount;

Old or tattered clothes

Synonyms; bits pieces scraps bits hints pinches

Antonyms– finery, best

Usage: Foreign relations with some of  India’s  closest  allies, such as Nepal, are in

tatters.

 

4) meander (verb) – चक्कर

Meaning: Wander at random; To wind or turn in a course or passage; To proceed

aimlessly or with little purpose; To scatter or intersperse among other things

Synonyms: ramble chatter prattle wind zigzag wander drift ramble stroll

Antonyms:  rush stay straighten untwist

Usage: a vast majority of other students just meander through college  and  acquire a

degree.

 

5) Interminable (noun) – अनन्त

Meaning: Seemingly endless because boring; Extremely large or great, especially in

scale or degree; bounded finite limited

Synonyms:  endless never-ending ceaseless immense huge massive halting

Antonyms: enthralling exciting

Usage:  How must differences be prevented from turning into interminable disputes,

even  violence?

 

6) pedestal (adj) – बैठक

Meaning: Support for something; A long, sturdy piece of timber or metal set upright in

the ground

Synonyms: base foot foundation post column pole

Antonyms: branch subsidiary extension

Usage: Some strongly feel that the Mahatma must be off the pedestal because  of  his

alleged  collusion with  the  Empire,  more  so  for  his racism.

 

7) imbibing (Noun) – अंत:शोषण

Meaning: to consume a liquid; to have a clear idea or understanding of; to mix or blend

together, typically into a single mass or unit; The process by which one thing absorbs or

is absorbed by another;

Synonyms: absorption assimilation incorporation incorporating blending combining

assimilating comprehending drinking consuming quaffing

Antonyms: impermeable nonabsorbent waterproof abstaining fasting

Usage: It is easy  to  imagine  him  inheriting caste  prejudices  in  his  childhood and,

after arrival in London to study law, imbibing the prejudices of his colonial masters, to

see himself as close to educated British elites than to Indian peasants or the

‘un­touchables’,

 

8) impinges (noun) – टकराना

Meaning: Have an effect, especially a negative one; Enter with disruptive or adverse

effect

Synonyms: affects touches influences infringes invades violates abuts adjoins joins

Antonyms: avoids dodges leaves alone

Usage:  It impinges on the liberty of an entire populace.

 

9) aggrieved (adj) – पीड़ित

Meaning: feeling resentment at having been unfairly treated.      

Synonyms: resentful, affronted, indignant, disgruntled, discontented, distressed,

anguished

Antonyms: pleased, soothe, placid

Usage: Far from reaching out to the aggrieved student  body, the police have issued

notices to dozens of them.

 

10) Ingenious (verb) – चतुर

Meaning: clever, original, and inventive.

Synonyms: intuitive, sophisticated, trailblazing, pioneering

Antonyms: unskillful, slow, uninventive, unready

Usage: She was ingenious at finding ways to work more quickly.
