1)  Sophistry (verb) – कुतर्क

Meaning: The art of using deceptive speech or writing; Talk intended to confuse;

Excessive concern with minor details and rules

Synonyms: pedantry dogmatism double talk deceit fallacy equivocation dishonesty

Antonyms: honesty truth openness

Usage:  While there can be no argument about the importance of development projects,

it has resorted to sophistry in classifying activity for exemptions.

 

2) spearheaded (verb) – नेतृत्व

Meaning: To have shown the way by being in front; to have pioneered; to get a sizable

lead in a contest;

Synonyms: leaded led headed captained commanded established innovated

Antonyms: followed trailed tailed discouraged dissuaded

Usage: The mass  sit ins  since  June  have  attracted  wider  support from  the

3) Tenuous (verb) – क्षुद्र

Meaning: Very slender or fine; Lasting for a very short time; Not conspicuous; Subject

to dispute or questions;

Synonyms; weak doubtful dubious flimsy unnoticeable camouflaged concealed

evanescent ephemeral fleeting momentary fine attenuated delicate

Antonyms– strong substantial convincing significant obvious blatant clear

Usage: The issue will test the tenuous ties between the military and the civilian led

government and the credibility of the progress to a participatory democracy.

 

4) Milieu (verb) – स्थिति

Meaning: A social setting or environment; A place where one is or has been

Synonyms: environment setting surroundings location habitat home

Antonyms:  old-fashioned composure

Usage:  Will  the changed milieu have an impact on this?

 

5) Concussion (noun) – हिलाना

Meaning: temporary unconsciousness or confusion caused by a blow to the head;

Synonyms: impact, crash, jolt

Antonyms: avoidance, building, compliment, construction

Usage:  Unless he’s staying overnight because of that mild concussion we’re back to

sharing a room.

 

6) Unwittingly (adj) – बेइरादा

Meaning: In an accidental manner;

Synonyms: impressionably inexperiencedly fortuitously inadvertently accidentally unintentionally

Antonyms: knowingly intentionally deliberately

Usage: While   disrupting     care,     it     may     have unwittingly lead to some

‘desirable’ changes by the circumstantial curb   on   unwarranted   medical practices 

 

7) Churning (Noun) – आलोड़न

Meaning: to rise and fall rhythmically or spasmodically, sometimes violently;

Synonyms: eddying surging billowing agitating boiling seething swirling effervescing

Antonyms: ethereal insubstantial subtle vaporous freezing

Usage: This churning may even lead  to  genuine  reflection  among healthcare

providers.

 

8) nudge (noun) – खिसकाने

Meaning: To coax or gently encourage (someone) to do something; To drive spiritually

or urge someone on; Have a specified relationship with another thing or person in terms

of nature or quality;

Synonyms: encourage inspire motivate prompt prod urge encourage compare correlate match

Antonyms: discourage dissuade pull repress abstain manhandle refrain

Usage:  Will lessons learnt during the epidemic nudge us towards rational and ethical

care?

 

9) Skirmish (noun) – लड़ाई

Meaning: an episode of irregular or unpremeditated fighting, especially between small

or outlying parts of armies or fleets.

Synonyms: Confrontation, Conflict, Fight

Antonyms: Peace, truce, Unanimity

Usage: If such skirmishes normally follow the melting of snowlines, for example, then

why was the LAC not adequately manned

 

10) advocacy (verb) – वकालत

Meaning: support for an idea or cause

Synonyms: espousal promotion recommendation support

Antonyms: attack discouragement opposition

Usage: While avoiding advocacy of zero  sum  solutions  on  crucial  issues,  both

countries must seek to harmonise strategic and other interests in line with common

values and socioeconomic compulsions
