Meaning: seek the favour, support, or custom of.

10) Ballast (verb) –

Meaning: give stability to (a ship) by putting a heavy substance in its bilge.

Synonyms: equilibrium, balance, brace, bracket

Antonyms: instability

Usage: “the vessel has been ballasted to give the necessary floating stability”
