UPSC CAPF: Eligibility Criteria

Although the official notification of the CAPF UPSC has not yet been released the candidates should be well aware of the basic eligibility criteria that should be followed by the candidates of all genders. With that in mind, the candidates can easily check the basic age limit, educational qualification for students of different categories mentioned in the space below.

Nationality

The candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria to apply successfully:

  • The candidate should be a citizen of India
  • Or a subject of Nepal, or
  • Or a subject of Bhutan, or
  • Or a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 to permanently settle in India, or
  • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania,

Age Limit

According to the previous year notification of UPSC CAPF, the age limit of the Unreserved candidates will be in the age limit of 20 years to 25 years. In addition to this the candidates who belong to the reserved quota will be liable to receive some age relaxations as mentioned below:

Educational Qualification

The candidate willing to appear for the UPSC CAPF should have completed their Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized College or University. In addition to this, the candidates who are in the last year of their Graduation can also apply only if their result is released before the Interview round.

How to apply for the UPSC CAPF Notification 2021?

The candidates preparing for the UPSC CAPF Exam 2021 are required to apply for the examination online within the dates mentioned in the official notification. The candidates can follow the steps mentioned below to apply successfully:

Step 1: Registration

  • Visit the official website of UPSC.
  • On the homepage, the candidates are required to search for the Apply Online option.
  • Next, the candidates have to choose the name of the UPSC CAPF Application Form 2021
  • Then, the candidates have to click the Registration link and fill in the registration form. Therein the candidates will be required to enter all the details of the candidates i.e. Candidate’s name, Date of Birth, Category, Address, Category, Nationality, Email id and valid mobile number.
  • In the next steps, the candidates have to choose the age relaxations applicable to the category of the candidate.

Step 2: Application Form

  • The candidates are required to enter the Registration Id and Password to login on to the application form.
  • Post this, the candidates will be required to enter their Academic Qualification, and upload scanned signature and photograph.
  • The size of the image and the candidate’s signature should not be more than 20-300 kb.
  • Thereafter, the candidates are required to move to the payment page of the Application fee.

Step 3: UPSC CAPF Application Fee

  • At last, the candidates will be required to pay the application fee using the online mode i.e. Debit/Credit Card and Net Banking or the offline mode. For the offline payment, the candidates are required to pay the application fee via cash payment in any SBI Branch.
  • The UPSC CAPF Application fee for the candidates of the Unreserved category/OBC is Rs 200. While the candidates who belong to the reserved quota i.e. Women/SC/ST are exempted from paying the application fees.

UPSC CAPF Exam Pattern

As per the previous year records the UPSC CAPF Exam Pattern will have three stages i.e. Written Exam, Physical Efficiency Test, and Interview. The details of each stage are mentioned in the space below:

Phase 1: Written Exam

Phase 1 is the written examination and has two papers i.e.General Intelligence and Ability and General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension. The examination will be conducted offline and the major pointers related to the written test is below:

  • The candidates will get 2 marks for each correct answer while 1/3rd marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • However, in the second stage, the total questions asked will be 7 but 1/3rd marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Paper 1 will be in English and Hindi language while Paper 2 will be available only in the English language.

Phase 3: Interview

The Interview round will be held for 150 marks. The candidates who are successful in the written test and Physical Standard Test will be called to appear for the Interview round.
