The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released notification for UPSC Jobs recruitment of Geologist, chemist, geophysicist and Junior Hydrogeologist in Geological Survey of India and Central Ground Water Board through UPSC Geologist and UPSC Geo-Scientist Exam 2019. There are 70- vacancies available for this recruitment process. All the interested candidates are hereby informed to apply for the Geo-Scientist and Geologist posts before the last date of submission.
UPSC GE exam tentatively to be conducted in the month of June 2019. The last date to submit the application is on 16 April 2019.

To attend UPSC Combined Geologist and Geo-Scientist Exam, the candidate should be eligible in terms of Education, Age limit and Nationality. The eligibility details is given below:
Master’s degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Mineral Exploration or Engineering Geology or Geo-Exploration or Marine Geology or Earth Science and Resource Management or Oceanography and Coastal Areas Studies or Petroleum Exploration or Geochemistry or Geological Technology or Petroleum Geosciences orGeophysical Technology.
2. Chemists (Geological Survey of India)
M. Sc. in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry.
3. Geophysicists (Geological Survey of India)
M.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics or Integrated M. Sc. (Exploration Geophysics) or M. Sc. (Geophysics) or M. Sc (Applied Geophysics) or Or M.Sc. (Tech.) (Applied Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Marine Geophysics).
4. Junior Hydrogeologists ( Central Ground Water Board)
Master’s degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Master’s degree in Hydrogeology or Marine Geology from a recognized University.
The candidate age should be within the prescribed Age Limit. The Age limit is as given below:
The candidate must be Citizen of India or From Nepal or From Bhutan or Tibetian refugee who came to India before Jan 1962 and permanently settled, Person of India origin migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Uganda, and Ethiopia with intention of permanently settling in India.
The Application Process for UPSC GE post is the same as that of any UPSC jobs exams. Candidates need to apply by the official website.
The candidates who are eligible will get e-Admit Card for the exam before the commencement of exam.
The documents that should be kept ready for submitting to the Commission after the result declaration are as follows:
The candidates need to pay the fee of Rs.200/- except SC/ST/PWD/Female candidates who are exempted from payment of the fee. By depositing the money in any branch of SBI by cash, or by net banking of State Bank of India or by card.
Eligible candidates will get an e-Admit Card three weeks before the commencement of the exam. The e-Admit Card will be available on the UPSC official website. The candidates can download admit card from the official website itself. No Admit Card will be sent by post. The candidate has to give necessary details like Reg No, D.O.B to download the e-Admit Card. If the candidate is not able to download Admit Card even after giving all necessary credentials, then need to contact Commission regarding it.

The candidates can expect the result of UPSC Exam for GE post tentatively in the month of August 2019. After which Interview call letters would be made available to the candidates who have cleared the written exam. The date of preparation of the final merit list has not been decided yet.
